Sean Dyche receives vote of confidence from Everton bosses despite poor start to the season

Everton are committed to sticking with manager Sean Dyche for the rest of the season, according to The Telegraph.

Dyche has come under intense scrutiny as the Blues sit at the bottom of the Premier League table after three games, but the club have decided to stand by the former Burnley boss for at least the rest of the season.

Everton are still looking for their first point in the 2024/25 season having suffered defeats against Brighton & Hove Albion, Tottenham Hotspur, and Bournemouth.

Before the international break, Dyche’s side threw away a two-goal lead against Bournemouth before succumbing to a 3-2 defeat, which further increased the pressure on the English manager.

The Blues will resume their Premier League campaign with a trip to Aston Villa before facing relatively favourable fixtures against Leicester City and Crystal Palace, and fans will be hoping they can arrest the slump before it’s too late.

Despite the difficult start, Dyche retains the support of Everton’s leadership. Majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri and director of football Kevin Thelwell are backing him.

Since taking over from Frank Lampard in January 2023, Dyche has achieved his primary objective of keeping Everton in the Premier League.

He has done so while managing financial constraints and dealing with the sale of key players like Anthony Gordon to Newcastle United and Amadou Onana to Aston Villa.

After a phenomenal end to the previous campaign, Everton fans were hoping the club would kick on and push for a mid-table spot this season, but it hasn’t panned out as expected.

Dyche’s contract with the Blues runs out at the end of this season, and it’s unclear if it will be renewed, especially with ongoing talks about a potential change in ownership.

American businessman John Textor, who is one of Everton’s prospective buyers, made comments earlier this week that raised doubts about Dyche’s long-term future if he takes over the club.

For now, Everton’s management is standing by Dyche as they aim to climb out of the relegation zone, though his future beyond this season remains uncertain.
