Tottenham Hotspur suffered a disappointing 2-1 loss to Newcastle United in their previous match before the international break.
Spurs dominated for large parts of the second-half but ultimately headed home without anything to show for their efforts following Alexander Isak’s winner in the 78th minute.
They are now set to host arch-rivals Arsenal in a blockbuster Premier League fixture on Sunday.
And in a big boost for Ange Postecoglou, the Gunners are likely to be without their two best players for the North London Derby.
Martin Odegaard is a big doubt after he picked up a knock in Norway’s 2-1 win over Austria (per The Guardian).
The 25-year-old left the pitch in tears after hurting his ankle in the second-half of the Nations League match on Monday.
Odegaard has played in all three top-flight games this season, averaging 1.0 shots, 1.7 key passes and 3.3 ball recoveries per game.
Arsenal will also definitely be without Declan Rice, who is suspended after being sent off against Brighton & Hove Albion in their previous game.
Rice, who starred for England in their 2-0 win over Ireland, was part of Mikel Arteta’s starting XI in their last three matches. And last term, he featured in all 38 league matches as the Gunners finished second in the table.
Tottenham haven’t been very convincing so far this season but they have a brilliant opportunity to pick up full points against their arch-rivals this weekend.
Spurs will be playing at home and Arsenal’s midfield will be weakened due to the absence of Rice and Odegaard.
