Ange Postecoglou blown away by Tottenham young talent Archie Gray

Tottenham Hotspur secured their second win of the Europa League campaign after beating Ferencvaros 2-1 in Hungary on Thursday night.

Pape Sarr and Brennan Johnson scored both goals for Spurs and the north London club continue to build strong momentum.

Ange Postecoglou made a raft of changes to the side, and he fielded four teenagers in his starting line-up. After the game, Postecoglou showered heaps of praise on them, and especially on Archie Gray.

The Spurs boss said that Gray was “brilliant” on the night. He has been left stunned by the 18-year-old’s ability to adjust to various roles, which he finds “incredible”.

Postecoglou said, as quoted by Football London: “I thought Archie was brilliant today, we asked him to play in two different positions and it’s incredible how he just adjusts and he’s able to bring his game to wherever he put him.”

Archie Gray could be a future star for Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs made a later entry in the race to sign Gray from Leeds United during the summer transfer window.

Gray enjoyed a phenomenal campaign with the Whites last season in the Championship, but the club decided to cash in on him mainly to comply with the financial rules.

He was chased by Brighton, but Spurs hijacked the deal and signed him for around £30 million in a deal, where Joe Rodon moved in the other direction for around £10 million.

Gray is a generational talent, but Spurs are taking a cautious approach towards his development. He can play in multiple positions and has done really well whenever he has been called upon.

He has managed only 32 minutes in the Premier League so far but has played in three cup games.
