Liverpool have made a flying start under new boss Arne Slot. The Dutchman has settled in seamlessly after succeeding Jurgen Klopp in the Anfield hot seat.
Winning nine out of their ten games, the Reds are currently doing exceptionally well both in the Premier League and Europe.
The Merseyside giants have comfortably won their first two Champions League fixtures and with 18 points, they are also sitting at the top of the league standings.
The mood around the club is very positive at the moment, with Arne Slot deserving massive credit for it all.
The Athletic’s Simon Hughes also hailed Slot for his impressive job at the club. He said the 46-year-old has many similarities with peak Rafael Benitez but the difference is ‘the players feel as though they know exactly where they stand’ with the Dutch coach.
He said: “He reminds me a lot of Rafael Benitez when he was at his best. Not in terms of the style of football he promises but his preparedness, calmness, as well as his decisiveness. From what I hear, the difference with Benitez (and this is a good thing, I think) is the players feel as though they know exactly where they stand with him”.
Liverpool endured an underwhelming summer transfer window as they added only Federico Chiesa to the squad.
They tried hard to secure the services of Martin Zubimendi and were ready to pay his £51 release clause. But the midfielder decided against moving to Anfield and opted to stay at his boyhood club Real Sociedad.
Despite the lack of signings, the Reds have made an excellent start to the 2024-25 campaign, which is a surprise for many people.
Apart from the 1-0 defeat against Nottingham Forest, they have won all their remaining nine matches in all competitions.
