Celtic Injury update: Two players ruled out v Ross County

Celtic will look to bounce back to winning ways on Sunday when they travel to Dingwall to face Ross County in the Scottish Premiership.

The Bhoys suffered their first defeat of the season in midweek as they lost 7-1 against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.

It was a heavy blow for Celtic, and now it’s up to Brendan Rodgers to motivate the team again for their upcoming league game.

The Hoops have made a flawless start to their domestic campaign, and Rodgers will hope that his players will shake off the disappointment in midweek and produce a dominant display before heading to the international break.

Ahead of the match, Rodgers has confirmed today (4 October) that Celtic will be without Greg Taylor for this game. The 26-year-old left-back was taken off at half-time against Dortmund, and he is struggling with calf issues.

The defender is also likely to miss Scotland’s Nations League double-header against Croatia and Portugal. Rodgers has stated that he hopes to get Taylor back shortly after the international break.

Rodgers said: “Cam’s still not available and Greg Taylor will miss the game, he has a slight problem in his calf.

“We’re hoping Cam will be ready after the international break and Greg will probably not be too far after that. (Carter-Vickers) is putting his weight on it and it’s easing off. It was just time he needed.”

The Hoops will miss Cameron Carter-Vickers once again for this game. The USA international has missed the last three games for Celtic, and he is most likely to return shortly after the international break.

In his absence, Auston Trusty is likely to start once again. Trusty enjoyed a horror night in Dortmund, and Rodgers will expect a better performance from him.

Alex Valle should start at left-back against Ross County on Sunday. The 20-year-old joined from Barcelona during the summer transfer window on loan and has made three appearances in all competitions so far, with two of them coming from the bench.
