Crystal Palace back manager Oliver Glasner despite poor run

Crystal Palace find themselves in the relegation zone after a poor start to the season.

The Eagles are winless in their eight Premier League games, but the Palace board are not looking to make managerial changes at Selhurst Park just yet.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, Palace are backing their manager to turn the situation around. However, if the results do not improve before the November international break, Steve Parish could decide to look for other options.

Palace are one of the four clubs in the Premier League without a victory in their opening eight games, and “sources are indicating” that they still want to continue with the Austrian.

If the club are in genuine danger of relegation, Parish could then pull the trigger.

Crystal Palace need wins to change the mood at Selhurst Park

Towards the end of the last season, Palace were one of the in-form teams in the Premier League.

Jean Philippe-Mateta was scoring freely, and everyone thought that the Eagles would continue the good work under Glasner despite losing Joachim Andersen and Michael Olise in the summer transfer window.

That has not happened. What has been really disappointing is that Palace are not winning games at home, and if that continues, Glasner will soon lose the support of the home fans and the dressing room.

The defeat against Nottingham Forest was the latest blow, and Simon Jordan was absolutely spot on that the Eagles came into the game with the mindset of picking a point rather than winning the game.

Palace will face London rivals Tottenham Hotspur in their next Premier League game, and Jordan doesn’t see the Eagles picking up a victory from that game either.

In any case, Glasner will stay in charge regardless of this week’s result. However, Palace should look to win the games against Wolves and Fulham.
