Aston Villa gear up for their Premier League encounter against AFC Bournemouth tomorrow at Villa Park. The Villains will be brimming with confidence after an excellent run of results.
Villa are undefeated in their last ten matches. They sit atop the UEFA Champions League log after three matchdays following victories over Young Boys, Bayern Munich, and Bologna.
The Villains are flying in the Premier League, sitting pretty in fourth after usurping Chelsea’s position with a win over Fulham.
Aston Villa can consolidate that position with a win over the Cherries this weekend, but it will not be straightforward. This fixture has been tricky for the Birmingham-based club.
Over the last five meetings, Bournemouth and Villa have won two times while they played one draw at the Vitality last season. In the previous ten, the Cherries have four wins (L3, D1).
However, Villa will take confidence from the fact that they have won the last two clashes at Villa Park.
Jaden Philogene is the only absentee. The young winger is serving a one-match suspension following a red card in the previous league game against Fulham.
Villa manager Unai Emery confirmed that the rest of the squad is fit and ready to face the Cherries. “All the players are ready except for Jaden, who is suspended,” Emery stated in his pre-match press conference.
The Spanish tactician also provided an update on Lamare Bogarde and Sil Swinkels, who are currently playing with the Under-21s. “Two young players are playing with the Under-21s today (at Middlesbrough), Lamare Bogarde and Sil Swinkels. The other players are training every day with us, they are available and in the squad,” he added.
As Villa look to continue their positive momentum, a strong performance against Bournemouth is crucial. Emery’s side has been impressive this season, and a victory on Saturday could further solidify their position in the league.
Aston Villa predicted starting line-up
