Everton must sign Silas Katompa Mvumpa in January

After a turbulent start to the season, Everton appeared to have found their rhythm in recent games.

They are building strong momentum, having picked up five points from their last three Premier League games without losing in any of them.

With new ownership on the horizon, Sean Dyche can expect to be properly backed in the market. If everything goes well, the Friedkin Group is likely to take control before the end of this year, which means Dyche could get funds to bring in new players in January.

The lack of squad depth is a major issue, especially in the attacking areas. It does not come as a big surprise that the Toffees are reportedly looking to bolster their attacking department.

Everton eye move for new winger in January

Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg confirmed on X that Everton are one of the clubs showing keen interest in signing Red Star Belgrade winger Silas Katompa Mvumpa.

Plettenberg wrote: “Silas might leave Red Star Belgrade this winter. The 26y/o winger is under contract with VfB Stuttgart until 2026 and currently on loan with #FKCZ.

“However, a transfer of #Silas in winter is possible as there‘s a release clause of around €10m (£8m). Belgrade would receive the full amount. Several clubs are interested (Everton, Villarreal).

“Stuttgart have secured a sell-on clause of 10-15 % in case of a winter transfer of Silas who’s playing Champions League now.”

The Toffees must secure bargain signing in January

The 26-year-old is enjoying the best time in his career in Germany.

The DR Congo winger joined Stuttgart in the summer of 2019 and has made over 130 appearances for the club, scoring 36 goals.

He joined Red Star Belgrade in the summer of 2024 on loan. Mvumpa can play as a right-winger, a left-winger and through the middle, and he could be a fantastic addition to the side.

Known for his pace and creativity, he has made a big impact in Germany. He is known for his dribbling skills and is tremendously quick.

Iliman Ndiaye has quickly become a fan favourite, and Mvumpa could be another exciting signing. He is in the prime years of his career and would come at a decent price, which falls under Everton’s transfer budget.

He could leave in the January transfer window, and at £8 million, Everton must not miss out on the opportunity to sign him.
