Lopetegui to axe Kudus after big incident – West Ham predicted XI vs Ipswich Town

West Ham United were one of the busiest clubs during the summer transfer window as they splashed around £120 million to make nine new additions.

But despite the heavy spending, the fans are yet to see results on the pitch as they have made a disappointing start to the new campaign.

With just a single win from their opening six Premier League matches, manager Julen Lopetegui is currently under pressure to deliver results.

The Hammers played out a 1-1 draw at Brentford last weekend, with Tomas Soucek scoring the second-half equaliser after Bryan Mbeumo’s opener.

Lopetegui will be looking to return to winning ways when they welcome Ipswich Town to the London Stadium on Saturday.

Predicted West Ham XI vs Ipswich Town

Alphonse Areola will be the guaranteed starter between the sticks this weekend. In front of the Frenchman, we are expecting the same backline that featured last time against Brentford, with Max Kilman and Jean-Clair Todibo in central defence while Emerson and Aaron Wan-Bissaka playing on the flanks.

Guido Rodriguez, who has started all six top-flight matches this campaign, will have the role of linking the defence and the midfield.

Further forward, Lucas Paqueta and Soucek should retain their first-team spots in the centre of the park.

However, we are expecting a big change at left-wing as Mohammed Kudus, who joined the club in a £38 million deal in 2023, will likely be axed from the team following his bust-up with the manager at half-time against Brentford. Crysencio Summerville should replace him on the left wing, with Jarrod Bowen likely to add to the attack from the right.

With Niclas Fullkrug still absent from injury, Michail Antonio is in line to start up front against Ipswich.

Predicted XI: Areola; Wan-Bissaka, Todibo, Kilman, Emerson; Rodriguez; Bowen, Soucek, Paqueta, Summerville; Antonio
