National media praises Manchester City star after excellent display vs Sparta Prague

Manchester City maintained their unbeaten record in the Champions League this season as they claimed an emphatic 5-0 win over Sparta Prague on Wednesday night.

It took the Citizens only three minutes to score the opener at the Etihad Stadium, with Phil Foden firing the ball into the bottom right corner.

The visitors kept the Premier League champions at bay until the interval, but Erling Haaland doubled their advantage with an acrobatic backheel volley in the 58th minute.

John Stones added another with a thumping header before the Norwegian striker bagged his second by coolly slotting the ball into the bottom right corner.

Matheus Nunes slammed home a penalty as the English giants wrapped up an emphatic 5-0 win.

The National press hailed City’s performance but were left hugely impressed with Haaland.

The Daily Mail gave the 24-year-old 8.5/10 rating, saying the big fella continues to take the breath away.

Savinho’s floaty cross was good enough to cause a mild panic but Haaland produced a moment of audacious brilliance to score his first goal.

He added another with a curled finish, taking his Champions League goals tally to 44 in 43 matches.

The Norway international has been in top form this season, netting 13 goals in 12 appearances across all competitions.

City fans will hope Haaland continues his brilliant form as they aim to win all four available trophies.
