After a record-breaking first-Test victory, England slumped to a disappointing 152 runs defeat against Pakistan in the second match in Multan on Friday.
Spinners Sajid Khan and Noman Ali wreaked havoc on the batters as the duo shared all 20 wickets which is only the seventh time in Test history.
Pakistan made some key changes to the team after the humiliating defeat, including dropping Babar Azam for Kamran Ghulam.
That worked for the hosts as the 29-year-old played an excellent knock, hitting a debut hundred to help his side to 366 in the first innings.
Despite an impressive start, the Three Lions managed to make only 291 with Sajid claiming seven wickets.
Noman Ali then produced a masterclass display on the fourth day as he clinched eight scalps to bowl out the visitors for 144, falling short by 152.
The National Media slammed England’s overall performance at the Multan Cricket Stadium but they were particularly unhappy with Zak Crawley.
The Daily Mail gave him a lowly 4/10 rating, noting he “was all at sea against the spinners”.
The 26-year-old contributed 27 runs in the first innings before falling prey to Noman Ali.
Crawley got deceived by the same bowler on the third day as he was lured out of his crease by an excellent delivery before being stumped.
The playing conditions were hard for England on the Multan pitch but their performance was also far from satisfactory.
There is no need to press the panic button as they can still win the series by doing well in Rawalpindi next week.
