Sky Sports pundit left dumbfounded after Dalot’s miss in Manchester United’s loss to West Ham

Things are going from bad to worse for Manchester United and Erik ten Hag this season.

The Red Devils poor run of form continued on Sunday as they slumped to a humiliating 2-1 loss at West Ham United

The Manchester giants made an ideal start to the away encounter as they dominated possession and chances in the first-half.

However, Man Utd were guilty of missing several big chances and the Hammers punished their wastefulness after 74 minutes when substitute Crysencio Summerville fired the opening goal.

Casemiro thought he had grabbed a point for his side when he headed home the equaliser, but the Hammers went on to claim full points after Jarrod Bowen’s stoppage-time penalty.

Manchester United had the perfect opportunity to seal back-to-back league wins but poor finishing meant they had to return empty-handed from the London Stadium.

Diogo Dalot was the main culprit and he deservedly received criticism for failing to convert one of the easiest chances.

Sky Sports pundit Clinton Morrison was utterly dumbfounded that the 25-year-old missed an open goal.

He said: “Oh my gosh, I don’t know what I have seen here. Bruno Fernandes plays a brilliant ball, it is brilliant from Dalot who knocks it past Fabianski, he’s got an open goal and six yards out and he volleys it over the bar, he sidefoots it over the bar”.

The latest defeat means the pressure is back on Erik ten Hag who has led his side to just three wins from their opening nine matches.

The Red Devils are currently languishing in 14th in the Premier League, with seven points behind the top-four.

Time is running out for Ten Hag who must soon bring significant improvements to survive in the job.

The Dutchman must win the next league fixtures against Chelsea and Leicester City, and also do well in the Europa League and EFL Cup.
