Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa have SC Braga attacking midfielder Roger Fernandes on their radar

Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur are both keen on signing SC Braga attacking midfielder Roger Fernandes, according to Portuguese outlet O Jogo.

Ajax, Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen, Brighton & Hove Albion, Chelsea, Newcastle United and PSV Eindhoven also want the 18-year-old, and more suitors are expected to join them Villa and Spurs in his pursuit.

Fernandes has played 44 games since making his debut for the Primeira Liga outfit as a 15-year-old in July 2021, and a move to the Premier League could be on the cards as Braga are known for selling players for profit.

Villa manager Unai Emery is looking to keep strengthening his attacking ranks going forward to establish the Midlands club as regular top-four challengers, and landing the Portuguese attacking sensation could appeal to the Spanish.

Fernandes has two goals and an assist in 16 games across all competitions this term and is already being tipped to play for the national team soon having caught the eyes of Portugal manager Roberto Martinez.

Braga manager Carlos Carvalhal dubbed the youngster ‘unbelievable’ back in November 2021 after an impressive start to life as a senior team player, and it is unsurprising to see the likes of Tottenham and Villa keeping tabs on him.

Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou is desperate to turn the North Londoners into a club capable of challenging for silverware having last won their last trophy in 2008, and adding Fernandes to their attack could come in handy.

The teenager boasts an electric pace, dribbling skills and perfect crosses, and landing such a winger could prove perfect for Tottenham and Villa.
