West Ham United have had a miserable start to the 2024-25 Premier League campaign.
The Hammers were one of the busiest clubs in the summer, spending over £120 million to bring in nine new players.
However, the fans are yet to see the results of their investment as they are languishing in 16th in the English top-flight after eight matches.
Pressure is mounting on manager Julen Lopetegui despite the Spaniard arriving at the London Stadium in May.
He is not reportedly not in imminent danger of being sacked but it’s clear results have to pick up soon.
According to a report from the Mirror, West Ham have notified Edin Terzic that he would be a candidate of interest if they were to dismiss Lopetegui.
The 41-year-old left his role as Borussia Dortmund manager in June after guiding the German giants to the Champions League final last season. He also lifted the German Cup in 2021 during his stint at the Signal Iduna Park.
Lopetegui is under pressure to get a positive result this Sunday when they welcome Manchester United to the London Stadium.
United haven’t been very convincing this season but they are also highly motivated to claim full points after a woeful start to the new season.
There was a lot of excitement among fans when Lopetegui took over as manager in May. They expected him to introduce an attacking brand of football and also revive their fortunes.
However, the Spanish boss has completely failed so far, winning just two of his opening eight league matches.
