Arsenal eye move to sign West Ham winger Mohammed Kudus

Arsenal suffered a massive blow in the title race after losing 1-0 to Newcastle United in the Premier League on Saturday (2 November) at St James’ Park.

The Gunners are now seven points behind league leaders Liverpool. While there’s plenty of time left to close the gap, the task will only get difficult from here on.

It appears that Arsenal have already started planning for the January window (or next summer), and they could make a big raid on Premier League rival West Ham to lure away one of their prized assets.

According to a report from the Sunday Mirror, Arsenal are lining up a move for West Ham winger Mohammed Kudus.

The 24-year-old joined the Hammers last season from Ajax, and he is already in demand.

Arsenal explored signing the Ghana winger before he joined the Hammers and could make a move for him. He would cost around £90 million.

The Gunners mainly see him as a replacement for Leandro Trossard, who is being targeted by Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad.

The Middle East club are eyeing a £40m deal for Trossard after failing to land the Belgian, 29, on loan in the summer.

Kudus has managed two goals in the Premier League for West Ham, who have massively underperformed under Julen Lopetegui. The Spaniard is under a lot of pressure to keep his job safe after yet another defeat this week.

The Ghana winger, known for his electric pace and fantastic dribbling skills, was involved in controversy recently.

He was red-carded after clashing with Micky van de Ven, Richarlison, and Pape Matar Sarr and could face further punishment for his sending-off against Spurs.

The FA charged Kudus with violent conduct and acting in an improper manner “after the offence he was sent off for’’, and could get a three-match ban.

Trossard has a contract until 2026, and while he has been brilliant under Arteta, it makes sense for the Gunners to offload him if they receive around £40m.
