Bournemouth striker Enes Unal eyed by Sevilla for January move

Sevilla FC have set their sights on a January transfer swoop for AFC Bournemouth striker Enes Unal, according to Seville-based publication Orgullobiri.

The 27-year-old has found himself on the periphery at the Premier League club, featuring for just 150 minutes across eight appearances while failing to register a single goal.

Bournemouth signed Evanilson from FC Porto for big money, and even though he has taken his time to get acclimated to his new environment, he seems to have taken the starting berth, leaving Unal to consider a move away from England.

Unal is back to full fitness after an injury earlier this season. The Turkiye international is eager to reignite his career, and a move away from Bournemouth seems increasingly likely.

Returning to La Liga appears tempting, with Sevilla viewing him as a potential solution to bolster their attacking firepower. They don’t have other options besides Isaac Romero and Kelechi Iheanacho.

Unal previously thrived in La Liga with Getafe CF before his move to England. He scored 31 goals in the Spanish league over two seasons. He is a hardworking and powerful force of nature.

Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido Carrasco believes Unal could be the missing piece for their bid to climb back into one of the European places in the second half of the season. Talks are reportedly underway to secure his signature.

While Transfermarkt estimates Unal’s value to be around €20 million, the final fee could hinge on negotiations. Sevilla’s finances are in tatters, and they likely won’t be able to cough up such an amount.

Unal’s desire to return to La Liga could work in Sevilla’s favour, potentially leading to a deal closer to €10 million. However, this figure might still be a stretch for Sevilla’s financial state.

With the January transfer window looming, both clubs will weigh Unal’s value and determine if a deal can be reached that benefits both parties.
