Crystal Palace have made a poor start to the 2024/25 season, and reinforcement at Selhurst Park is necessary in January.
The Eagles have struggled in the absence of several key players due to injuries, which has hampered the club’s overall performance this season.
Palace have managed only one win in 11 Premier League games, and they find themselves in the relegation zone following their 2-0 loss against Fulham last week.
The club need to bolster their forward department, while Oliver Glasner could look to add players to other positions.
The Eagles have been linked with a move for Benfica defender Tomas Araujo once again after the club failed to sign him in the summer window.
It appears that Glasner really wants to add more depth and quality at the backline, and a new player has been linked today.
Crystal Palace eye move for Terry Yegbe
According to a report from Fotboll Direkt, Palace are showing keen interest in signing IF Elfsborg defender Terry Yegbe.
The 23-year-old joined Elfsborg in January 2024, but within a short time at the club, he has become a “sensation”.
His performances have not gone unnoticed, and several clubs are vying for his signature. Along with Palace, other clubs such as Fulham, SC Freiburg, Union Berlin and Sheffield United are also interested in getting his signature.
Clubs from the Netherlands, Italy and Belgium are also tracking his progress.
The Ghana international is enjoying his time at Elfsborg, and he is in no rush to leave now. A move next summer is more likely, but if a good offer comes in January, then the club could consider it.
Elfsborg would demand a fee of around £4.1 million for the centre-back, which would be a record transfer sale for the club for any defender.
With Marc Guehi facing an uncertain future at Selhurst Park, Palace are probably checking at other options already.
