West Ham United have endured a miserable start to the season under Julen Lopetegui.
The Hammers are currently sitting just three points above the relegation zone after winning three of their 11 Premier League matches.
West Ham were very optimistic at the start of the campaign, as they had spent over £120 million to bring in nine new players.
However, things have turned out very differently, as most of the new recruits have failed to make an impact at the London Stadium.
This is especially true about Niclas Fullkrug, who arrived at the club for £27m from Borussia Dortmund last summer. But the move has spectacularly failed, as he is yet to make a Premier League start due to an Achilles tendon issue.
The 31-year-old’s absence means Lopetegui is forced to feature Michail Antonio to lead the attack, but the Jamaican isn’t very effective.
Despite arriving in the summer, Fullkrug is already being linked with an exit. According to Turkish outlet Ege Gundem, Galatasaray are interested in securing the services of the striker in January.
The Super Lig side want to bolster their attacking ranks and believe the West Ham player to be an ideal option.
However, a move is not likely to materialise as Fullkrug is contracted with the Hammers until 2028 and they could demand a huge transfer fee.
He was one of the standout performers for Dortmund last season, helping them reach the Champions League final with three goals and two assists in 13 appearances.
However, West Ham fans are yet to see his brilliance, with the attacker sidelined with injury.
