Jeff Stelling makes bold Nottingham Forest prediction on talkSPORT

Nottingham Forest have made a strong start to their 2024-25 Premier League campaign and jumped to third in the table after thrashing West Ham 3-0 last week.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side has picked up three wins in a row in the league, and the City Ground is buzzing at the moment.

Last season, Forest were fighting hard to avoid relegation, and many had even predicted that they would go down this season.

Gary Lineker was one of them, but he has now changed his mind after recent results.

Jeff Stelling has said that he was asked whether Forest can win the title, to which he said ‘no’ straightaway, but he has predicted them to secure European place this season.

The talkSPORT host has been left heavily impressed by the quality of Forest’s starting XI and the depth of their squad.

He feels that Forest have what it takes to finish sixth or seventh in the Premier League this season, although there’s loads of competition.

What Jeff Stelling has said about Nottingham Forest

Speaking on talkSPORT, Stelling said: “My prediction is Forest will end up in a European place this season.

“Whether it’s sixth or seventh, I think it’s so open in the chase for a European spot. The points they’ve got on the board now, the quality of their starting XI, the strength and depth they had.

“Elliot Anderson couldn’t get a start at the weekend and he’s been absolutely brilliant, makes me think Forest have got what it takes to finish sixth or seventh.”

Forest fans will hope that the prediction comes true

There’s still a long way to go in the league, and Forest may not be in this position in a few months’ time.

The fans are absolutely enjoying every moment, and there is an air of positivity around City Ground.

Stelling is spot on that Forest have enough depth and quality in their squad, and they can surprise many teams this season.

They are the only side to have beaten Liverpool at Anfield this season across all competitions, but the players should not get carried away.

Forest fans will be delighted with Stelling’s predictions. The Reds will face Newcastle United in their next Premier League game at home this weekend.

In other Nottingham Forest news, Alan Shearer has been left heavily impressed by 28-year-old player after what he did v West Ham.
