Leicester City will be looking to appoint a new manager quickly after sacking Steve Cooper in a ruthless move from owner Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha.
The Foxes are 16th in the table with ten points, but the Leicester board acted quickly as they felt the recent performances did not indicate any sign of progress.
Leicester are without a win in their last five games, and Cooper gradually lost the dressing room as he failed to convince the top players in the side with his tactics.
According to a report from The Telegraph, the Foxes are hoping to make a new appointment later this week.
Gray Lineker has suggested that Leicester should eye up Lee Carsley, while Graham Potter has been linked as well.
Who is leading the race to become the next Leicester City manager?
According to journalist Rudy Galetti, Leicester are looking to appoint Ruud van Nistelrooy as their next manager.
The Foxes have approached the Dutch manager, and they want to explore “the negotiation margins”
Galetti writes on X that while other names are under evaluation, Leicester see Van Nistelrooy as their priority target.

Will Van Nistelrooy accept the Leicester project?
The 48-year-old was the interim boss at Manchester United, and he left the post after Ruben Amorim was appointed by the club last month.
The news has come as a bit of a shock for Cooper as he was told at the start of the season that survival was the sole aim.
Leicester were also under threat of a hefty points deduction for breaching profitability and sustainability rules, but they avoided punishment in the end.
Potter held talks with Leicester before Cooper’s appointment, but negotiations collapsed. The Foxes could revisit their interest in the former Chelsea manager as well.
Nistelrooy could be a smart appointment for Leicester. He did a brilliant job at PSV Eindhoven, and his brief period at United looked promising.
Leicester could opt for a safe option and bring in someone with top-tier experience, as they do not want to be dragged into the relegation spots by the end of the year.
