Celtic came from behind to win 3-1 over German club RB Leipzig in the Champions League on Tuesday night (5 November) at Celtic Park.
Despite suffering a humiliating defeat away at Borussia Dortmund, the Bhoys have done really well thus far, picking up two wins and a draw in their four games, sharing the same points with big European clubs like Manchester City, Arsenal, Juventus and Inter Milan.
It felt like Celtic would choke once again against a German side when Leipzig took the lead, with the Bhoys failing to clear the corner properly.
But a moment of supreme quality from Nicolas Kuhn brought Celtic back into the game. The German winger, who has been targeted by several Premier League clubs, scored at the stroke of half-time to make it 2-1.
In the second half, Reo Hatate scored from close range to ensure all three points for the Hoops.
The Daily Record has described Kuhn as “prolific”, “thing of beauty”, and “fabulous” and has given him a 9/10 rating.
Celtic hit different levels in the Champions League this season
It was just destined to happen. Of all people, Kuhn came back to haunt his former club with a stellar performance. His first goal was outstanding as he cut inside and curled it past the Leipzig keeper, similar to how Mohamed Salah does for Liverpool on a regular basis.
The best part about the victory was the pace at which the Celtics played. Rodgers often gets frustrated when his side is restricted to sterile passing without energy.
In front of an electrifying atmosphere, Celtic played with energy and purpose, and Leipzig, at times, had no answer on how to stop them.
Callum McGregor and Hatate were outstanding, and Auston Trusty was too. The summer signing stepped up his level against Leipzig and delivered a phenomenal performance on the night.
