Leeds United defender Joe Rodon has become a key player for both club and country, and his latest performance for Wales is another indication of how far he has progressed in the last 24 months.
Rodon impressed heavily for the Whites on loan from Tottenham Hotspur in the 2023/24 season. He was simply outstanding at the back and nearly helped Leeds secure promotion to the Premier League.
It was almost certain that Leeds would sign Rodon permanently in the summer, and they didn’t pass that opportunity.
Rodon has been outstanding for the Whites this season, and he has been everpresent for Daniel Farke’s side, starting in all 15 games so far.
He was impressive in Wales’ 1-0 win over Montenegro in the UEFA Nations League game back in October and once again showed his quality against Turkey.

Wales Online was impressed by Rodon’s performance, and they gave him an 8/10 rating.
They wrote: “Made several really important contributions. Mopped up crosses. Put in tackles and put his body on the line.”
The same publication also gave Karl Darlow a 7/10 rating and hailed his save in the first half as “terrific”.
Rodon survived a nasty injury
In the first half, Rodon picked up a nasty injury when he clashed heads with fellow teammate Mark Harris.
Both went to the ground, and they needed lengthy medical attention. For a moment, it felt like Rodon may not be able to continue as he took longer to stay up.
However, much to the relief of Leeds fans, Rodon not only continued with his head bandaged up but produced a superb defensive display.
The Whites defender made one tackle and eight clearances, per Sofascore. He also blocked one effort in the first half.
He won a few duels and managed 82% passing accuracy, rounding off an excellent performance alongside Ben Davies.
