Nottingham Forest have made contact to sign Mathys Tel

Nottingham Forest are flying in the Premier League at the moment, and they have already started planning for the winter transfer window.

After witnessing a sea-change approach in transfer policy, where quality presided over quantity, it looks like the Reds will continue implementing a similar strategy going forward.

Without European football, Forest are not in a position to lure big-name players. They should focus on developing steadily and bringing in talented young players who could become potential stars in the future.

In the past 24 hours, reports have emerged that Edu will join Forest from Arsenal, and he will be a fantastic appointment. It is not clear at the moment what his role should be at Forest, but fans can be excited by his track record at Arsenal.

The Brazilian played a massive role in making the Gunners a major powerhouse in the Premier League, and he brought in some fantastic players.

Forest are currently third in the Premier League and unless there’s a major dip in form, they are expected to compete for European places this season.

Nottingham Forest eye move for Bayern Munich winger Mathys Tel

With that in mind, the club is already preparing to target different levels of players when the window reopens in January.

According to Florian Plettenberg, Forest are eyeing a move to sign Bayern Munich winger Mathys Tel, and they have already made contact over a potential move.

Throughout the summer, Forest attempted to bring in a new striker but failed in their attempt to land Eddie Nketiah and Santiago Gimenez.

With Chris Wood enjoying the form of his life, Forest have shifted their attention to signing a winger instead.

The 19-year-old has no plans to leave Bayern in January on loan. Werder Bremen are also looking to get him on loan in case he decides to move away in January.

Mathys Tel is a terrific talent

The French forward progressed through the youth ranks at Rennes and joined Bayern in the summer of 2022.

He has already made 76 appearances for the German giants, scoring 16 goals and claiming six assists.

This season, he has made only one start in the Bundesliga, but his talent is undeniable.

Forest have Callum Hudson-Odoi and Anthony Elanga as two quality wingers, but there’s no harm in adding depth to the squad, especially when the player is being mentored by none other than Harry Kane himself.
