Predicted Leeds United starting XI v Millwall

Leeds United will look to maintain their impressive form when they take on Millwall in the Championship on Wednesday night away from Elland Road.

The Whites are unbeaten in their last eight games in the Championship, and they are heading into this game on the back of a 3-0 win over Plymouth.

Daniel Farke’s side sits second in the Championship table, three points behind Sunderland, and they will be looking to close the gap at the top further.

With games coming thick and fast, Farke could be tempted to make some changes to the side from the last game, but he has limited options due to injuries to key players.

Leeds face Queens Park Rangers before the international break, and therefore, squad rotation to keep the players fresh could be useful.

Here’s the predicted Leeds XI for this game.

Goalkeeper

Illan Meslier kept a clean sheet in the last game, and he is set to continue between the sticks at the Den.

Defence

In defence, Farke is likely to make one change as Jayden Bogle could return to the side after serving a one-match suspension.

Sam Byram played in the last game, but Bogle, 24, who has been brilliant for Leeds so far, should get the first priority.

The defensive partnership between Pascal Struijk and Joe Rodon has blossomed this season, while Junior Firpo is set to continue at left-back.

Midfield

Farke has admitted that Ethan Ampadu is doing some light running and making great progress. The Whites skipper should be able to return by the start of January, but Farke hopes that he can return earlier.

Ao Tanaka and Joe Rothwell are currently the first-choice partnership for Farke in the absence of Ampadu, and the duo should retain their place in the side.

Attack

Farke admitted that Patrcik Bamford and Joe Gelhardt will undergo a late fitness test, and even if they are passed fit, Farke is unlikely to give them starting roles.

Dan James, Wilfried Gnonto and Brenden Aaronson started in the last game, and they all should retain their place. Farke has waxed lyrical about Aaronson, and the US international should make the best use of the opportunities presented.

Manor Salomon remains an option, but he is likely to start from the bench. Joel Piroe has featured regularly in recent games, but this is an ideal time for the Whites to start with Mateo Joseph.

Thus, Farke is likely to make two changes, with Bogle and Joseph coming in place of Byram and Piroe.

Predicted Leeds XI: Meslier; Bogle, Rodon, Struijk, Firpo; Tanaka, Rothwell; James, Aaronson, Gnonto; Joseph.
