What Celtic should do with Nicolas Kuhn amid transfer rumours

Celtic produced one of their best performances of the 2024/25 campaign so far, defeating German side RB Leipzig in the Champions League clash on Tuesday night (5 November) at Parkhead.

Nicolas Kuhn scored two goals for the Bhoys in the first half, and Reo Hatate added another in the second, as the Bhoys came from behind to pick up all three points.

The Daily Record was full of praise for Kuhn, and they gave the German winger a 9/10 rating for his “fabulous” performance.

The 24-year-old winger has scored nine goals and provided ten assists in all competitions for the Hoops. Needless to say, he is one of the first names in the teamsheet for Brendan Rodgers.

Several clubs are showing keen interest in Nicolas Kuhn

Earlier this week, Florian Plettenberg reported that a host of Premier League clubs are circling around him, and he could be one of the players to watch out for who could switch clubs next summer.

He has a contract at Celtic Park until 2029 and has a price valuation of over €10 million. Already, several clubs have made inquiries, and his latest performance in the Champions League should encourage scouts in attendance, if any.

Celtic must know what to do after Matt O’Riley success

Kuhn is on a long-term deal at the Scottish club which gives Celtic the power to negotiate properly.

In recent years, Celtic have sold some quality players for huge transfer fees, and they have reinvested into the squad.

In the summer window, the Bhoys sold Matt O’Riley to Brighton for a club-record sale. So, Celtic should consider selling Kuhn if there’s a big offer on the table.

This is the most important part – it has to be a big offer. Rich Premier League clubs can easily pay €10m and they could consider it as bargain.

His first goal against Leipzig shows his true potential, and it will be blasphemous to sell him at the price. It has to be at least three times the price quoted for the German, which is around €30m.

If wealthy clubs want kuhn, Celtic must ensure they get the premium price from the sale.
