Crystal Palace maintained their impressive form of late after managing a 2-2 draw against Manchester City at Selhurst Park on Saturday in the Premier League.
Daniel Munoz gave the Eagles a dream start when he scored inside the opening five minutes. Man City pulled one back in the first half through Erling Haaland.
In the second half, Maxence Lacroix scored a simple header from Will Hughes’ corner. City restored parity once again through Rico Lewis.
Here, Sports View have rated the Crystal Palace players out of 10 for their performances at Selhurst Park.
Dean Henderson – 6
The Eagles goalkeeper produced an outstanding save to deny Erling Haaland from close ranger in the 7th minute. Could he have done better to prevent Haaland’s goal? He would be really disappointed.
Trevoh Chalobah – 3
The summer signing from Chelsea failed to make an impact in the first half. In the second half, he couldn’t track the run of Rico Lewis, and it allowed City to score the equaliser. A player of his quality should be doing a lot better.
Maxence Lacroix – 8
The Frenchman made some brilliant interceptions in the first half, and he looked composed alongside Marc Guehi. In the second half, he jumped high and scored a beauty with a simple header.
Marc Guehi – 5
He made one vital block to deny Haaland in the first half, but apart from that, he was very flat. He made zero tackles and zero interceptions and failed to win a single duel.
Daniel Munoz – 7
Scored for the second home game in a row with a wonderful finish inside five minutes. He was lively throughout the game and was involved in some smart moves.
Will Hughes – 9
The midfielder produced an outstanding pass with his left foot to find Munoz, which led to the opening goal. He nearly scored one, but Ruben Dias made a brilliant block to deny him. He produced a fabulous cross that led to the second goal for Palace. He was simply sensational for the Eagles.
Jefferson Lerma – 6
Mateta presented Lerma with the best opportunity of the match, but he couldn’t finish it from close range. He lost some cheap possession in midfield and gave away the ball cheaply in a dangerous area at the back. Much better performance in the second half.
Tyrick Mitchell – 5
While he was always available on the left-hand side, the left-back was pretty poor with his crossing. But he was defensively very solid, making some good tackles.
Ismaila Sarr – 7
He was brimming with confidence at the moment and produced a wonderful ball to Mateta in the first half that nearly opened up a great opportunity. In the second half, he made a darting run into the box and picked Eze with a delicious pass, but the Englishman couldn’t hit the target.
Eberechi Eze – 6
Eze was lively throughout the game and got himself into good positions, as he always does, but he couldn’t find the finishing boots today.
Jean-Philippe Mateta – 7
The French striker worked extremely hard. He was brilliant with his hold-up play and finding teammates in good areas.
