David Moyes has told West Ham United owner David Sullivan he is available for work amid mounting pressure on Julen Lopetegui, according to the Sun.
The Hammers have lost seven of their 14 Premier League games under the Spaniard this season, and he could be sacked if the result against Wolverhampton Wanderers tonight does not satisfy the board.
Moyes is open to replacing him at West Ham, but he will only return for a third spell under the right circumstances.
The 61-year-old left the London Stadium club in the summer and was replaced with Lopetegui, with the Irons believing the Spaniard could usher in a positive style of play and deliver the results.
Moyes is happy to wait for the right opening if West Ham go for another manager, and Wolverhampton Wanderers are also keen on recruiting the services of the former Manchester United boss as Gary O’Neil is under pressure too.
However, the Scottish manager has told Wolves chiefs he is not interested in discussing a move while they still have a manager in place.
Moyes has managed 261 games at West Ham across two spells, winning the Europa Conference League with them in 2022-23.
He was with them from November 2017 to May 2018, helping them secure safety from relegation before leaving after his six-month deal was not renewed.
Moyes returned to West Ham in December 2019 on an 18-month deal, replacing Manuel Pellegrini, who had left them in 17th in the Premier League table, one point above the relegation zone.
They finished 16th at the end of 2019-20 before finishing sixth the following season and seventh in 2021-22.
West Ham ended 2022-23 in 14th and were ninth at the end of last season.
They are currently 14th in the table this term and will need to improve significantly if they want to return to Europe next term, and whether Lopetegui can get the job done remains to be seen.
