Celtic failed to win against Dinamo Zagreb in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday evening, but manager Brendan Rodgers will be happy with the point.
The Hoops played out a goalless draw with Dinamo away from home at Stadion Maksimir.
It was not one of the most exciting of games, although both teams had chances.
Celtic are now unbeaten in their last four UEFA Champions League games. It is very encouraging for the Bhoys.
The Scottish Premiership side, though, could have lost the game on Tuesday evening had Kasper Schmeichel not made a great save late on.
In the 88th minute, Sandro Kulenovic had a very good chance, but Schmeichel was able to tip his effort over the crossbar.
Joe Hart impressed with Celtic goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel
Joe Hart was following the match for TNT Sports 2, and the former Celtic goalkeeper was hugely impressed with Schmeichel.
The pundit said that Schmeichel is a top-class goalkeeper and praised the former Leeds United and Leicester City player for maintaining his focus and concentration in the final minutes of the game.
Hart said: “Watched it all the way, great athleticism. Schmeichel alert, focused.
“Kasper Schmeichel expects to make them saves, of course, he does, he is a top-class goalkeeper, but in the 88th minute, 0-0 away from home in an important game, it just adds to it. Concentration. Excellent goalkeeping.”
Kasper Schmeichel has been a great signing for Celtic
Schmeichel replaced Joe Hart in the Celtic goal in the summer of 2024. After Hart decided to retire, the Hoops brought in Schmeichel on a free transfer.
He may be 38 now, but Schmeichel is as good as ever and has proven to be a bargain signing for Celtic.
The goalkeeper is one of the best and most consistent players in the Celtic team and is one of the first names on the teamsheet.
Schmeichel has played 23 matches in all competitions for Celtic so far this season.
