Leeds United team news: Jayden Bogle could miss clash v Middlesbrough

Leeds United will take on Middlesbrough in the Championship on Tuesday night at Elland Road.

The Whites returned to winning ways last week after they defeated Derby County 2-0 and will be looking to pick up back-to-back home wins.

Ahead of the match, Daniel Farke has confirmed that Jayden Bogle is most likely to miss the clash against Boro.

The 24-year-old right-back has made 18 starts in the Championship this season, scoring two goals and providing an assist.

He has grown into an important player under Daniel Farke, but he could miss this midweek clash.

Farke said, as quoted by Leeds Live: “There is a question mark on Jayden Bogle. He is in pain and not involved in training.

“He is more likely to miss the game than is available. He is in really good shape, and we would like to have him with us.”

Leeds United suffer major injury blow

Farke confirmed today that left-back Junior Firpo has picked up a serious muscle injury and will be out for a long time.

Firpo has been outstanding for the Whites over the past 18 months, and losing him will be a huge blow for the club.

The Whites boss said that Firpo could be out for four to six weeks, which means he will definitely miss the festive fixtures.

Leeds will welcome back Sam Byram, who has looked fit after training for the last 24 hours. He will come as a natural replacement for Bogle, if he doesn’t make the ssquad.

Should Leeds be looking to sign a new left-back in January?

Max Wober could play in the left-back role, and he remains an option for Farke. He is a solid defender but not a natural attacker. Therefore, Leeds should have enough depth to cope with Firpo’s injury.

However, if the rehab does not go well according to the plans, then Leeds could look to explore the market in January.
