Leeds United team news v Preston: Max Wober could miss due to knee injury

Daniel Farke will be looking to pick up three wins in a row when Leeds United face Preston North End in the Championship on Saturday.

The Whites are second in the league table, one point behind Sheffield United. They have won two consecutive games against Derby County and Middlesbrough and will look to maintain their winning streak.

Preston are unbeaten in their last five games, and it won’t be an easy game for Leeds at Deepdale, but Farke’s side has enough quality to see off the challenge.

Ahead of the match, the Whites boss suggested that he would make some choices about several players after today’s training session.

Farke added that Max Wober may not be fit to play three games in a row within seven days, as his knee is still swollen from the previous game.

“Several players with knocks and question marks,” said Farke, as quoted by Leeds Live.

“Wober, busy week, first time in the line-up for ages. Can he do three in seven? I can’t say yes at the moment because my knee was swollen after the last game.”

Injury problems at the back for Leeds United

The 26-year-old defender started back-to-back games for Leeds, the first time he has done so this season.

With Junior Firpo also out injured, it will be interesting to see how Leeds line-up if Wober fails to recover before the game.

The Whites are currently on a fantastic run, having won five of their last six games.

Leeds came back strongly after their recent defeat against Blackburn Rovers, and another routine victory will certainly boost their promotion hopes this term.

With the games coming thick and fast, the club’s biggest challenge is managing the players’ fitness.

Sam Byram was struggling with cramps, but he should be able to pass the fitness test ahead of the match.
