Manchester United have endured a difficult start to the Premier League season, as they are languishing in 13th place after winning just five of their 15 matches.
The Red Devils sacked Erik ten Hag and installed Ruben Amorim as their new head coach.
But the Portuguese boss is realising the enormity of the task in front of him, as Man Utd have lost their previous two matches to Arsenal and Nottingham Forest.
With the January transfer window approaching, Amorim will have his first opportunity to add some players of his choice.
According to the Sunday Mirror (December 8, Page 65), United are interested in signing Southampton wonderkid Tyler Dibling.
The 18-year-old is the Premier League’s breakout star this season through a number of outstanding performances.
The midfielder joined the Saints in 2022 and has seen a huge progress at the club.
After impressing with his displays for the youth teams, he made his first professional appearance in the EFL Cup match against Gillingham in August 2023.
This season, Dibling has featured in 14 top-flight matches, with a goal to his name.
His performances have attracted the attention of Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, but United are understood to be leading the race for him.
Russell Martin’s side are one of the favourites to get relegated to the Championship this season.
But Dibling may still play in the Premier League next campaign, as the Red Devils are very keen to secure his services.
