Micah Richards tells Tottenham whether they should sack Ange Postecoglou after Chelsea result

Micah Richards has given his verdict on whether or not Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy should get rid of Ange Postecoglou after the defeat to Chelsea in the London derby.

Tottenham suffered a 4-3 defeat at the hands of Chelsea at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday.

Spurs were 2-0 up after only 11 minutes, but they let that advantage slip and eventually lost the match 4-3. It was the 11th time that Tottenham lost a Premier League game after having a lead of two or more goals.

The North London club are seven points behind fourth-placed Manchester City. With the likes of Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa doing well, Spurs are in real danger of missing out on a UEFA Champions League spot.

Micah Richards wants Tottenham Hotspur to keep Ange Postecoglou

Former Tottenham player and talkSPORT pundit Jamie O’Hara has already called for Postecoglou to leave, but Micah Richards believes that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy should stick with the former Celtic boss.

The former Manchester City defender, though, has said that Postecoglou needs to adjust the way he plays.

Richards said about Postecoglou on The Rest is Football podcast: “I believe he can get it right. I don’t think they should be looking at a new manager.

“I think he has just got to now adjust certain things of how he wants to play because certain parts of what they are doing is good.”

Tottenham’s plan regarding Postecoglou

While certain sections of the Tottenham fanbase are frustrated with Postecoglou, the message coming from the club is that they will not sack the head coach.

The Telegraph have reported that Tottenham are not going to “hit the panic button” and will back Postecoglou and the team.

The report has claimed that Spurs believe that results will improve quickly, with Postecoglou having the support of his bosses.

Tottenham, though, have a tough run of games coming up. After facing Rangers in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday evening, Spurs will take on Southampton, Manchester United and Liverpool in the Premier League before Christmas and will lock horns with Nottingham Forest on Boxing Day.
