Michael Owen stunned by what happened after Man City 1-1 Everton

Manchester City continue to struggle in the Premier League after Everton secured a 1-1 draw at the Etihad Stadium on Boxing Day.

Erling Haaland missed a penalty in the second half as their crisis continued. Pep Guardiola’s side have now picked up just one win from 13 games in all competitions.

Bernardo Silva gave City the early lead in the 14th minute. The Toffees restored parity through Iliman Ndiaye, who scored a spectacular goal.

City tried to force a winner and brought Kevin de Bruyne from the bench, but Everton’s defence stayed resolute and came away with a precious point.

After the final whistle, City players were greeted by the home fans with a smattering of boos. The fans have voiced their frustrations after a poor run of form, and Michael Owen has been left stunned by this reaction.

The popular football pundit couldn’t believe what he saw at the Etihad Stadium.

He wrote on X: “Wow! Man City fans booing their team off at the end. Years and years of incredible success witnessing some of the best football the world has ever seen. And when the team needs them most..”
