Mohamed Salah ready to accept Liverpool contract extension

Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah is ready to accept a new one-year contract extension at the club.

The Reds legend has only a few months left on his current deal, and he has yet to sign a new contract.

According to journalist Simon Hughes of The Athletic, Salah is growing increasingly exasperated at how the club is handling the contract situation at a snail’s pace.

The 32-year-old forward has stated his desire to stay at Anfield time and time again, and he is ready to accept a one-year deal.

Salah can agree a pre-contract deal with any club outside England starting on January 1.

Paris Saint-Germain are showing keen interest in him, but the Ligue 1 champions have denied they are in talks.

The Egyptian winger is waiting for Liverpool to reveal its position in relation to the length and terms of any potential deal.

Liverpool should do everything to keep trio

Salah vented his frustration after the win against Southampton when he said that he was disappointed that a formal contract offer had not been made.

He is the club’s record goalscorer in the Premier League and deserves to be treated fairly. This season, he has managed 13 goals and 11 assists in all competitions already.

His performance levels are high, and there is no doubt that he is currently one of the best players in the world. He feels that the terms of any new deal should reflect that status.

Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold will also become free agents at the end of the season, and there is uncertainty over their futures.

Liverpool, under Michael Edwards, have returned back to their long-term recruitment model, and the Reds are hesitant to offer lucrative deals to players over 30.

However, they also must understand that it won’t be easy to replace players like Salah and Van Dijk, and it makes a lot of sense to hand them deals that suit all parties involved.
