West Ham must secure deal for Corinthians ace Yuri Alberto to save their season

West Ham United have had a disappointing 2024-25 season, winning four of their 14 matches to be in 14th place in the Premier League.

The Hammers are considering a replacement for Julen Lopetegui, whose days at the London Stadium look numbered.

The West Ham boss has been given a final chance against Wolverhampton Wanderers, and if he loses this game, he will most likely get sacked.

A lack of goals has been one of their biggest issues, and it is clear they need to bring in a quality striker in the January transfer window.

Michail Antonio suffered a horrible car crash at the weekend, with some reports suggesting he may even have to retire from football following the accident.

West Ham spent £27 million to sign Niclas Fullkrug in the summer, but injury issues mean he is rarely available for selection.

Danny Ings is also on their books but the £125k-per-week dud cannot be relied on to save their season.

He is now on the wrong side of 30 and is not capable of delivering them goals.

Ings had the opportunity to prove a point when Lopetegui started him against Leicester City, but the former Burnley player produced a dismal display and lasted until half-time.

The Irons have been linked with an interest in Corinthians star Yuri Alberto (per UOL).

We think they must secure a deal for the 23-year-old in January, as he would be a fantastic addition to the squad.

Alberto is very young and hungry, and he has been earning rave reviews with his performances in Brazil.

He scored an incredible 31 goals and provided seven assists in 57 appearances across all competitions in the 2024 season for Corinthians.

The Brazilian could be a huge success in the English top-flight, but West Ham face competition from rival Premier League clubs.

The Hammers must make a move quickly for Alberto, as they desperately need to sign a quality centre-forward to save their season.
