Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal could find it tough to convince Wolverhampton Wanderers to sell them Matheus Cunha in the January transfer window.
That is according to journalist Ben Jacobs, who has reported Wolves’s current stance on Cunha.
The well-known and well-respected journalist has claimed that Wolves do not plan to sell the forward now.
The Brazil international still has a long contract at the Wanderers, and the Premier League club are relaxed about his position.
Jacobs has reported on X that Wolves will only sell Cunha if they get a crazy offer, adding that Arsenal are among the clubs who are keen on him.

Cunha has 2.5-years left on his current deal. Still no plans to sell him in January barring a crazy offer.

Cunha is a very good player and has done well for Wolves. He is the one player in the team who does not look like he is playing for a club that could get relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
The Brazilian has been deployed mainly as a central attacking midfielder. He has turned out out wide and as a centre-forward on some occasions as well.
Cunha has scored 10 goals and given four assists in 19 starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League for Wolves so far this season.
While those stats are impressive, one must note that he is not a striker. With Gabriel Jesus now out injured, Arsenal need to bring in a number nine.
Cunha may be scoring goals, but he is not a natural striker. Arsenal need someone who is clinical and can be lethal in front of goal.
Arsenal are second in the Premier League table at the moment with 44 points from 22 matches. Mikel Arteta’s side are six points behind leaders Liverpool, who have played 21 games.
Meanwhile, Wolves currently find themselves 17th in the Premier League table with 16 points from 22 games, level on points with third-from-bottom Ipswich Town.
