Celtic deal on for Kieran Tierney – Fabrizio Romano

Celtic are still working on a deal to bring back Kieran Tierney from Arsenal in the January transfer window, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The transfer guru has shared a six-word update on X today, where he wrote – “Celtic and Kieran Tierney, deal on.”

The Bhoys are looking to sign a new left-back this month, and they are keen to bring their former hero back at Celtic Park.

Romano claimed earlier this month that Celtic held discussions with Arsenal, and negotiations had taken place to sign the Scottish defender.

The 27-year-old fullback is keen on the move, and both clubs have been working to reach a formal agreement.

Tierney is not in Mikel Arteta’s plans. He has made just one start in the League Cup this season and is way down the pecking order at the north London club.

It is indeed sad to see that a player of his calibre and quality has been completely frozen out. He has been looking to move away from the Emirates Stadium in the January window, and it feels like an emotional return to Parkhead is very much on the cards.

Romano further adds that Como have made contact to sign Alex Valle, who is currently on loan at Celtic from FC Barcelona.

He says that Tierney’s move to Celtic can open the door for Valle’s new loan move in the January window. Como see him as a top talent and negotiations are ongoing.

Celtic fans will erupt in joy with this news. Tierney left the club to join Arsenal, and it will come full circle if he returns to his boyhood club and helps the Bhoys win trophies yet again.

It is still unclear what the future holds for Greg Taylor. He has been outstanding for Celtic under Brendan Rodgers, but has yet to sign a new contract extension.
