Crystal Palace rekindle interest in Jobe Bellingham

Crystal Palace are showing interest in signing Sunderland midfielder Jobe Bellingham in the January window, according to a report from talkSPORT

The Eagles are looking to bring in some new faces to Selhurst Park in the winter transfer window, and Oliver Glasner will be properly backed in the market.

After a poor start to the season, Palace have shown improvement under Glasner, and they have climbed to 15th in the league table.

Bolstering the midfield is a priority for the Eagles, and they are looking to exploit the Championship market yet again. Palace signed Adam Wharton from Blackburn Rovers for £22 million last January, and he has proved to be a key player for them.

Arsenal, Tottenham West Ham have been credited with an interest for Bellingham, so Palace need to act quickly if they want to sign the 19-year-old.

He has been a long-term target for the Eagles, and they had him on the radar in the previous windows.

Palace feel that Bellingham fits the bill nicely, and they will have to pay a fee of £20m to lure him away from the Stadium of Light.

Crystal Palace expected to be busy in January

Bellingham has four goals and three assists in 22 appearances for Sunderland this season, and he has been hailed as “outstanding” recently by Gary Bennett.

Sunderland are aiming for promotion to the Premier League this season, and they may not be willing to sell their prized asset during the middle of the campaign.

Palace are looking to bolster other areas of the pitch as well. They need quality in the attacking areas and want to sign Liverpool kid Ben Doak, who is currently enjoying his loan spell at Middlesbrough.

The Eagles have had one bid rejected for the 19-year-old, and they are aiming to put in another offer in the region of £20m. Liverpool value him at around £30m, so they are most likely to reject their next bid as well.
