Everton offered chance to sign Willian on free transfer

Everton have been offered the chance to sign former Chelsea forward Willian.

After the Toffees lost 1-0 against Aston Villa on Wednesday night in the Premier League, David Moyes has made it clear that the club need to sign players in the forward department.

Everton are toothless in attack. There is hardly any creativity from the middle of the park, and their strikers can’t score goals.

According to a report from The Telegraph, the Toffees are among four clubs who have registered an interest in signing Willian.

The 36-year-old forward left Greek club Olympiacos after only six months, which means he can join any club for free.

Everton are in desperate need of forward players within their limited budget, and Willian would be perfect for them.

He can make an “instant impact”, considering his wealth of Premier League experience, having played for Chelsea, Arsenal, and Fulham in his career.

The Brazilian has made over 775 appearances in his club career and has scored 115 goals. He has also represented the Brazilian national team 70 times and scored nine goals.

He won two Premier League titles during his time with Chelsea. Willian could be attractive to Everton.

The Toffees are perilously close to the relegation zone, and the new owners will have to back Moyes with funds this month to bring in new players.

Everton could be in the market to sign a new striker following the injury to Armando Broja. Moyes confirmed that Broja could be out for 12 weeks and may return to his parent club, Chelsea.

Jack Harrison is another player who could be released by Everton to free up space for domestic loans. Moyes is a fan of Chelsea pair Carney Chukwuemeka and Ben Chilwell, and both of them could leave Stamford Bridge this month.

The Toffees are also interested in re-signing their former striker, Tom Cannon, who is likely to be sold by Leicester City.

While Willian is approaching the fag end of his career, he would still be able to make valuable contributions to Everton. It’s a risk-free deal.
