Everton submit bid to sign Yunus Akgun

Everton are one of the clubs showing keen interest in signing Galatasaray winger Yunus Akgun, according to a report from Fanatik

The Toffees are struggling badly in the Premier League and are 16th in the table, just one point above the drop zone.

Sean Dyche is under a lot of pressure, with several media outlets claiming that the new owners are internally discussing his long-term future at the club.

Everton need a few signings this month, but with the PSR threat hanging over their shoulders, they may not be able to spend heavily.

The Toffees, however, have made a loan offer with the obligation to buy Akgun in January.

Galatasaray technical Director Okan Buruk has decided to evaluate all offers for the Turkish international. Spanish club Real Sociedad are also interested.

Everton need to make smart decisions

Akgun would be a terrific signing for the Toffees. He has been in great form this season, scoring 11 goals and providing six assists in 24 games in all competitions.

He also spent time on loan at Leicester City in the Championship on loan and would grab the opportunity to play in the Premier League.

The 24-year-old generally plays as an attacking right midfielder and has 14 caps for his country already. He is already experienced, and his best years are ahead of him.

Everton desperately need more quality players in their forward areas. The goals have dried up for them, and there is hardly any dynamism and creativity in the final third. Everton have looked bereft of ideas in most games.

The Toffees are heavily reliant on Iliman Ndiaye to come up with sparks of brilliance, but in truth, they need more from their attacking midfielders. The likes of Jack Harrison and Jesper Lindstrom have underperformed, and Akgun would be an upgrade.

Having said that, Everton fans will remember the last time they signed a big-name player from Turkey, Cenk Tosun, the transfer turned out to be a disaster.
