Everton target Ernest Nuamah open to Premier League move

Everton are in desperate need of forward players in the January window, and they have been linked with a few players already

Scoring goals has proved to be the biggest issue for the Toffees, and David Moyes has made it clear that he would like new players this month.

Everton are lacking creativity in the middle of the park, and bolstering the attacking department should be their top priority.

The Toffees have been linked with a move for Lyon winger Ernest Nuamah, and Sky Sports have claimed today (via online transfer centre blog, 1:08 pm) that the 21-year-old is keen to move to the Premier League.

He was close to joining Everton during the summer window, but the move didn’t materialise. Lyon are going through financial problems and need to sell players. So, there is a possibility that Nuamah could be sold.

Everton have held talks with the 12-cap Ghana international forward. The Toffees fans will be buzzing with the transfer update, and it remains to be seen now if the Friedkin Group will make a concrete effort to bring him to Goodison Park.

The Toffees have been linked with a move for Willian on a free transfer, but Nuamah would be a better addition.

Iliman Ndiaye has been brilliant since he joined in the summer, but he hasn’t been getting support from other players. Nuamah is a pacey winger whose trickery and directness can cause problems.

He is a natural right winger who is good at crossing and dribbling. Everton will be encouraged by the fact that he wants to move to the Premier League, and they should look to find an agreement for him.

Signing a new striker should also be on Moyes’s priority list. Dominic Calvert-Lewin has not scored in his last 16 appearances, and that is indeed a worrying sign.
