Fabrizio Romano makes new post about Arsenal and Matheus Cunha amid Wolves stance

Fabrizio Romano has shared the latest update on the future of Matheus Cunha, as Arsenal try to sign the Wolverhampton Wanderers star in the January transfer window.

The well-known and well-respected journalist posted on X this evening that Arsenal are still “attentive” to the situation of Cunha at Wolves.

While the attacker and his Premier League club Wolves have had a verbal agreement over a new deal, nothing has been put down on paper officially.

The Italian journalist has claimed that there are still finer details to be sorted, adding that Arsenal have the Brazil international forward on their list. Manchester United have also been linked with Cunha.

View: Arsenal do not need Matheus Cunha now

Cunha is one of the better attacking players outside the Premier League top six at the moment.

The 25-year-old has done well for Wolves over the years and has established himself as one of the best players for the Wanderers.

Cunha has scored 10 goals and given four assists in 18 starts and two substitute appearances for Wolves this season.

The Brazilian star has played as an attacking midfielder, on the wing and as a centre-forward.

Cunha is a very versatile player who would be a good addition to the Arsenal squad, but he is not a player that the Gunners need right now.

Given the recent injury to Gabriel Jesus, Arsenal need to sign a new striker in the middle of the season.

The Gunners are still in with a good chance of beating Liverpool to the Premier League title this season. After all, the North London club are only six points behind Arne Slot’s side, although the Reds do have a game in hand.

For that to happen, Arsenal have to sign an out-an-out striker, such as Juventus and Serbia international star Dusan Vlahovic.
