Joshua Zirkzee has reportedly made a decision on his Manchester United future.
According to The Daily Mail, Zirkzee is in demand. Italian giants Juventus and Napoli are keen on signing the forward from United in the January transfer window.
Juventus and Napoli wanted Zirkzee in the summer of 2024, but the Netherlands international moved to United instead. Erik ten Hag was then in charge of the Red Devils, who paid £36.5 million in transfer fees to Bologna for him (The Daily Mail).
The 23-year-old forward has failed to make a huge impact at United this season. Zirkzee has scored four goals and given two assists in 27 matches in all competitions so far in this campaign.
Things went from bad to worse for Zirkzee on Monday evening when United head Ruben Amorim decided to take him off after just 33 minutes in the Premier League game against Newcastle United at Old Trafford.
Despite his struggles at United this season, Zirkzee wants to stay at Old Trafford and fight for his place in the team, according to The Daily Mail. The former Bologna forward is reportedly aware of interest from Juventus and Napoli, but the youngster is fully focused on doing his best for the Red Devils and “has no desire to leave”.
Manchester United should keep faith in Joshua Zirkzee
While it is not happening for Zirkzee at the moment, United need to keep faith in the forward and should not offload him in the middle of the season.
Zirkzee is only 23 now, and it does take time for players to get used to the Premier League. There has also been a managerial change at United this season.
It would be unwise to write off a player after just a few months. Amorim needs to persevere with Zirkzee until the end of the season at least.
