Juventus keen on West Ham United striker Niclas Fullkrug

Juventus have an interest in signing West Ham United striker Niclas Fullkrug during the ongoing winter transfer window, according to Sky Sports.

The London Stadium club signed the Germany international from Borussia Dortmund during the last summer transfer window, but he has struggled with his fitness and form, making just ten appearances for the Hammers and weighing in with two goals and one assist.

West Ham could be open to letting Fullkrug go temporarily or permanently this month as they have been linked with a loan interest in Brighton & Hove Albion striker Evan Ferguson, while Middlesbrough striker Emmanuel Latte Lath is also reportedly on their radar alongside Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Hwang Hee-chan.

Juve want a striker to pair with Dusan Vlahovic and are hoping to sign someone on an initial loan.

The 36-time Serie A winners believe the West Ham forward is capable of providing the services they need after his form in the Bundesliga with Dortmund and Werder Bremen.

However, the immediate future of the 31-year-old at the London Stadium club could depend on that of manager Julen Lopetegui.

The Spaniard could be fired any moment from now, with former Chelsea boss Graham Potter expected to take over until the end of the season.

As a result, Fullkrug could still remain at West Ham beyond the January transfer window if the new manager insists on having him around.

However, whether the German has what it takes to deliver the goods in the Premier League remains to be seen given his struggles so far.

He has a goal and an assist in his last three appearances for West Ham, and maybe keeping him fit could help him to finally find his feet.

The Hammers need a consistent goalscorer leading their attack if they are to finish in the top-half of the table, and whoever is in the dugout in the coming days has to make a quick decision on Fullkrug.
