Leeds United would be open to selling Illan Meslier in the January transfer window, according to a report from the Daily Mail.
The Whites are top of the Championship table after 26 games, but they have dropped points in back-to-back games from winning positions.
Meslier has conceded 19 goals this season so far and has kept 14 clean sheets for Leeds in the Championship.
The Frenchman has started in all the games in the Championship in 2024/25, but his recent form is a big worry.
The 24-year-old was at fault for two of Hull City’s goals on Saturday as Leeds let slip a 3-1 lead to end up drawing 3-3.
Meslier has been linked with a move away from Elland Road, and it appears that the Whites could consider selling him if they receive a good offer.
French club Stade Rennais have been linked with a move to sign Meslier in the January window, but as of now, they have not submitted any bid for him.
Manchester United are also interested in the French goalkeeper, and they see him as the one for the future.
Should Leeds sell Meslier this month?
Meslier is one of the senior players in the side. He was signed by Marcelo Bielsa and has been the first-choice keeper at the club for the past few seasons.
He is arguably one of the best goalkeepers in the Championship and has produced some “outstanding” performances in the past 12 months.
While Leeds are not actively looking to sell him, it appears that they would not mind letting him go if they receive a strong offer.
He is one of their bankable assets and has a contract at Elland until 2026.
Farke probably will not want to lose him during the middle of the season, especially when they have a genuine chance of securing an automatic promotion this season. But he will definitely want Meslier to cut down on silly errors.
