Manchester City are expected to be busy in the January window as Pep Guardiola is looking to bring in a few players to bolster the squad.
Guardiola is looking to sign a new centre-back, and City have been linked with a move for Palmeiras centre-back Vitor Reis.
According to Fabrizio Romano, City have agreed on personal terms with the 18-year-old defender, and they are negotiating a deal to sign him permanently.
Discussions are underway between the two clubs, and City are looking to close the deal for around £33 million.
The situation is “advancing fast”, and City are keen to wrap up the deal quickly to avoid other clubs bidding for him.
City appear to have picked up their form once again after a disastrous slump in form in the past two months. They have won back-to-back games in the Premier League after picking up just one win in the previous 13 matches.
Who else could Man City sign?
The Brazilian defender has progressed through the youth ranks at Palmeiras and has made nine appearances for the senior side.
In 2023, he was named one of the best young talents in world football, and it doesn’t come as a big surprise that the Brazilian club are demanding a high transfer fee for him.
According to a report from The Athletic, Man City are working on deals to sign Omar Marmoush and Abdukodir Khusanov this month.

David Ornstein reported that talks are advancing, and City have intensified their efforts to recruit both players.
Marmoush enjoyed a breakout season for Eintracht Frankfurt, scoring 13 goals in 15 Bundesliga appearances.
Khusanov, on the other hand, is a 20-year-old Lens centre back, who has attracted interest from Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur as well.
City are sixth in the Premier League table, with 34 points from 20 games, and they are still more than capable of securing a top four finish.
