Manchester United do not want to sell Alejandro Garnacho in the January transfer window.
That is according to Sky Sports, which has reported interest in Garnacho from Chelsea and Napoli.
Chelsea are looking to secure the services of Garnacho this month, while Serie A giants Napoli are keen on a deal for the Manchester United winger as a potential replacement for Georgia international winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who is on his way to Paris Saint-Germain.
Sky Sports have reported that United do not want to sell Garnacho in January and consider the 20-year-old part of their plans.
The former Premer League and UEFA Champions League winners will only consider offloading Garnacho for a “huge offer”, claims the report.
View: Manchester United have to keep Alejandro Garnacho
Garnacho is one of the best young players out there. United head coach Ruben Amorom rates him highly and described him as a “really fast” player who is “good in one against one” in The Manchester Evening News in December 2024.
There has been speculation in recent days that Garnacho is open to leaving United at the end of the season because he has not been getting regular starts under Amorim.
The Red Devils have to convince the youngster to stay. He is a prized asset, and United need to keep their best players.
It would reflect poorly on United if they sell Garnacho to Chelsea or Napoli and the winger goes on to become a superstar at the Blues or the Naples outfit.
While Garnacho will surely want to play week in and week out, it is Amorim’s job to explain to him his decisions and get the best out of him.
The young winger has made 31 appearances for United so far this season. He has scored eight goals and given five assists in those games.
