Manchester United are actively trying to convince Mathys Tel to move to Old Trafford despite Tottenham Hotspur having an agreement with Bayern Munich over a deal to take the striker to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
That is according to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, who has shared the latest information regarding Tel’s future on X.
Plettenberg has reported that Tottenham already have a verbal agreement with German club Bayern over a deal for the striker.
However, Spurs’ Premier League rivals United are now trying to do a deal of their own.
The Red Devils held talks with the 19-year-old Frenchman’s agent today.

Tel is struggling for playing time at Bayern at the moment, and one can understand why he would want to leave the Bundesliga giants in the January transfer window.
The striker has played only 14 times for the Bavarian club so far this season. The teenager has given one assist in those games.
Harry Kane is one of the best strikers in the world, and Tel would find it hard to get ahead of the former Tottenham Hotspur star in the pecking order.
However, Tel should have patience. After all, he is only 19 now and just starting his career.
While both United and Tottenham are massive clubs, neither are in a great position at the moment.
While the Red Devils are likely to undergo yet another rebuild, this time under head coach Ruben Amorim, Spurs are closer to the Premier League bottom three than the top four.
United are going to win league titles anytime soon and neither are Spurs.
If Tel is really desperate to leave Bayern and has already made up his mind to find a new club, then he should aim higher than United or Spurs.
