Newcastle United have been enjoying an excellent form in recent weeks under manager Eddie Howe.
Tuesday’s 2-0 win over Arsenal in the Carabao Cup means the Magpies have won their previous seven matches in all competitions.
Newcastle’s huge upturn in form has sparked hopes of winning domestic silverware as well as a place in the Champions League next season.
To help achieve their aims this term, the Premier League outfit will look to bring in reinforcements in the January transfer window.
According to Diario AS, Newcastle are monitoring Sevilla star Loic Bade.
The French star has been a key player for the Rojiblancos since joining them in January 2023.
He has made 75 appearances in all competitions for the La Liga side, with two goals and two assists to his name.
Bade has a contract with Sevilla until 2029, but the club’s financial troubles mean they could be open to letting their defender leave for £21 million.
Newcastle look in need of defensive reinforcements, with Fabian Schar, Jamaal Lascelles and Dan Burn all on the wrong side of 30.
The Tyneside club failed to land Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace in the summer, despite their willingness to fork out a club-record fee.
They could make a January move for Bade, who is young and has proven his abilities in Spain.
But the Magpies face competition from Liverpool who are also in the market for a new centre-back.
The Reds are one of the biggest clubs in Europe and they are firm favourites to win the Premier League this season. But Newcastle can tempt Bade to join them by promising more first-team minutes.
