Rayo Vallecano have made approach to sign Celtic winger Luis Palma

Celtic are willing to listen to offers for winger Luis Palma, even though they are reluctant to let him go in the January transfer window.

According to a report from Sky Sports, Rayo Vallecano have made an approach to sign the 24-year-old winger.

The La Liga club want to sign Palma on loan in January with an option to buy him permanently next summer.

Anthony Joseph claims that Palma has been attracting interest from clubs across Europe, including Genoa and Olympiacos.

The Scottish champions knocked back offers for him from Bundesliga and Ligue 1 clubs in the summer, but the situation could be different in this window.

Spanish newspaper Estadio Deportivo claim that Palma has already agreed personal terms with the La Liga club.

They claim that the player has been “dreaming” of joining Rayo for several days. Palma joined Celtic in 2023 and has made over 40 appearances to date, scoring 10 goals.

Last season, he scored seven goals and provided nine assists, but he hasn’t been able to recreate that magic in 2024/25.

He has managed only one start in the Scottish Premiership thus far, and a further six appearances have come from the bench.

Estadio Deportivo also claim that Rayo want to sign him on loan, and are willing to pay a fee of £2.1 million next summer to sign him permanently.

Celtic are missing veteran winger James Forrest who is out injured for a month, and the Bhoys are light in that department.

Having said that, Palma has dropped down the pecking order at the club, and he must leave Glasgow to play regularly.

The Hoops are in the market for a winger in this window, but they cannot register new signings for the Champions League league phase.

It appears that Palma has already decided to move away from Parkhead in the January window, and his loan exit is inevitable.
